🐺 THIRD GRADE AT THE FAIR! 🐷🚜
Our third-grade Wolves enjoyed an Ag-citing Learning adventure at the world’s greatest Clay County Fair!
Students experienced the sights and sounds of agriculture while visiting livestock, turkeys, tractors, and an amazing magic show. Along the way, they met fellow Wolf Dorothy, who introduced them to her reserve class champion hog and shared what she learned through her 4-H project.
What a fun and educational day at the fair! 💙

⚖️ A Special Learning Opportunity at H-LP!
H-LP middle and high school students welcomed Iowa Supreme Court Justice Matthew McDermott today!
Justice McDermott spoke with students about his role on the Iowa Supreme Court, how Iowa’s court system works, and the responsibilities of the state’s highest court. Our students were engaged, asked thoughtful questions, and did a wonderful job representing H-LP and our community! 🐺
Justice McDermott was appointed to the Iowa Supreme Court in 2020 after working in private practice. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa and his law degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
The learning opportunity continues tonight! The Iowa Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in Andrew Perry v. Dordt University at the SAMI Bedell Center beginning at 7:00 PM. The event is free and open to the public, with a reception with the justices to follow.
